Why did you take a knee, Paul?

Paul Hornung...as the card should have been?

Hornung's Post cereal photo was taken by Jim Laughead while he was kneeling. Paul had just finished signing an autograph book for a young boy dressed in a Packers uniform complete with helmet and number 5 on his chest—just like his hero. Laughead snapped another photo of Hornung still on a knee that became the iconic photo Post used on Hornung's card. Soon after the kneeling photo, Laughead took a black and white shot that was used in 1961 Packers game programs. What if it had been in color? Maybe the best photo of Hornung in a Packers uniform? Just maybe.
